Warminster Town F.C.

Warminster Town F.C. are a football club based in Warminster, Wiltshire, England. They play in the Western Football League Division One.
==History==

Warminster Town as a football club can be traced back to 1878 and with a short two-year break between 1883–85 it has been in existence ever since. They started playing friendly games at Holly Lodge, Boreham Road, before joining the Wiltshire County League winning their first trophy (Wilts Senior Cup 1900–01) and won on irregular basis up to 1933.
They joined the Western League for the first time in 1930 and played in the league until the outbreak of the War.
After the War they rejoined the Wiltshire County League until they rejoined the Western League in 1983. In the 1994–95 season they finished in their highest position of 4th creating many club records watched by an average crowd of 202 spectators. In the very early 90's the old wooden stand was deemed too dangerous and had to be demolished. From the rubble the present club house was erected and opened on 24 June 1994 by the then club chairman Bob Peaty who organised the complete project costing in the region of £110,000. During the construction the garages at the Weymouth Street end of the ground were utilised as changing rooms with permission from the Western League and the Wiltshire FA.
The club was regulated from the Western League in the 2001–02 season and returned to the Wiltshire League playing in the Premier Division. In most of the seasons Warminster finished in the top half of the Premier Division until the 2005–06 season when they finished third.
The club applied to join the Wessex League in 2006–07 and in their first season they finished 8th and their best season so far was 5th in the 2008–09 season. The same season they won through to the final of the Wiltshire Senior Cup played at Chippenham Town's stadium against Highworth Town from the Hellenic Football League, losing in extra time. It was 50 years since their last appearance in the Senior Cup final.
The club are managed this season by John Phillips.
in June 2012 the club were accepted back into the Western Football League Division One.
